The need

MyCreds™ grants learners enrolled at post-secondary institutions access to a secure digital network and credential wallet that enables them to effortlessly view and share their academic credentials and transcripts digitally, around the clock and from any location worldwide.

The need for a solution like MyCreds™ for Nova Scotia post-secondary institutions became increasingly clear during the Covid-19 pandemic, where most PSEs had to quickly move their day-to-day administrative functions online. Processing, mailing, and accepting hardcopy documentation was just not feasible during periods of lockdown where registrar and enrolment services staff were required to work from home.

This initiative was sponsored by Nova Scotia’s Department of Advanced Education, in collaboration with the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents (CONSUP), EduNova, and the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC).

The solution

Barrington Consulting was hired to provide project and change management support for the provincial initiative working directly with the Nova Scotia MyCreds™ Steering Committee, the Advisory Committee. representatives from ARUCC and PSE project implementation teams. As part of this support, Barrington executed the following activities:

  • Conducted a readiness assessment and established an onboarding implementation schedule for institutions
  • Provided project and change management support to institution implementation teams during each institution’s MyCreds™ onboarding
  • Supported the Nova Scotia MyCreds™ Steering Committee to facilitate onboarding activities across the province
  • Acted as a liaison between key partner groups such as CONSUP, ARUCC, and PSEs

The results

With the support of Barrington, 10 post-secondary institutions in Nova Scotia successfully onboarded to the MyCreds™ National Network. This initiative positively impacted approximately 70,000 full-time and part-time post-secondary learners in Nova Scotia by providing them with easier and more secure access to their official academic documents in a digital format, enabling them to share these documents whenever and wherever they choose.
