The need

In 2019, Saint Mary’s University recognized that the organization was assuming increased risk the longer it used their aging, on-campus PBX telephony solution. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic created an even more urgent need for a modern communication system to support teams working remotely and evolving needs. Saint Mary’s University tapped Barrington to present a new solution and guide the implementation of the proposed system.

The solution

Barrington supported the Saint Mary’s team by researching, analyzing, and modelling potential alternatives. Work began with a deep dive of Saint Mary’s current state. Our team conducted interviews, reviewed documents, analyzed data and performed additional research in order to paint a precise picture of the university’s current telephony capabilities. This essential work laid the foundation for the subsequent assessment of alternative solutions.

The Barrington team made several divestment and consolidation recommendations with the potential to generate substantial cost savings for the university. A high-level implementation plan was also developed by the Barrington Team to support the deployment of a new solution.

The results
